Protect Your Alternator from Voltage Spikes & Disconnect Events
The ARCO Zeus Alternator Shield is engineered to protect high-output alternators from
damaging voltage spikes caused by sudden battery disconnect events. These events,
commonly triggered by LiFePo4 battery BMS shutdowns or accidental switch interruptions,
can instantly destroy alternator diodes.

Description

ARCO Zeus Alternator Shield is designed to protect high output alternators against harmful voltage pulses caused by sudden battery disconnections. These situations usually occur as a result of LiFePO4 battery BMS shutdowns or accidental interruptions and can instantly destroy the alternator diodes.
The shield limits excess voltage and directs it safely to ground, thus extending alternator life and preventing costly malfunctions.
Key Benefits
• Protection against voltage surges – prevents damage caused by battery disconnections and load dumps
• Designed for modern electrical systems – ideal for LiFePO4 systems at risk of BMS shutdown
• Extends alternator life – reduces load on diodes and internal components
• Instant status indicator – System status is monitored with LED
• Easy installation – connects to alternator terminals in minutes
• For high output systems – compatible with high amperage alternators
ARCO Advantage
• Complies with ISO 16750-2 Load Dump standard
• Up to 75% more durability than competitors
• Design suitable for real field conditions
• Integrated with ARCO Zeus ecosystem
Assembly Instructions
Shield ring terminals should be at the top of the connections on the alternator. It should not be placed under battery connections.
Connect the ring terminal of the red and black wire to the alternator positive (+) terminal
Connect the ring terminal of the yellow and black cable to the alternator ground (–) terminal
If the LED is green, the device is connected correctly and provides protection. If the LED is red, the device no longer provides protection and must be replaced
If voltage information is received only via CANBus in the system and there is a break in the positive or negative cables, ARCO Shield cannot provide full protection. In this case, the ARCO Zeus Bluetooth regulator can handle this scenario if a voltage sensing connection is made to the battery harness and “Battery Voltage Sense Active” is activated.
note
• The device is manufactured according to ISO 16750-2 load dump standard
• In cases of extremely high impact, all protection devices may be damaged
• If the limit is exceeded, the LED turns red and the device must be replaced
• Even if the LED does not light up in cases such as lightning, the device may be damaged and should be replaced.
